Our Mission & History
Our mission is to help families of children with congenital heart defects (CHD) by shouldering some of the financial burdens entailed.
Mission
Our mission is to provide financial and emotional support to families of children diagnosed with a critical congenital heart defect. We assist these families when they need it the most. Your help allows them to focus solely on their warrior’s care without the added stress of bills. These costs include but are not limited to travel expenses to and from medical facilities, food expenses while away from home, and lodging expenses while receiving care.
Although no one can take away the anguish these families face, we can ease the stress and anxiety that their financial obligations bring.
With your help, CHD families will be better prepared for the future.
Vision
Our mission is to help families of children born with congenital heart defects (CHD) by shouldering some of the financial burdens entailed. We understand that no parent is prepared for a child with CHD and that no parent is prepared to lose a child. Our financial aid gives them peace of mind and time to spend with their child in the ICU. These precious moments have tremendous value that cannot be measured. Although no one can take away the anguish these families face, we can ease the stress and anxiety that their financial obligations bring.
Values
- Compassion – Our compassionate aid allows parents and families to take time off from work to be by their child’s side and still honor their financial obligations.
- Support – On average there are 20-30 heart patients in the local children's hospital, and most families are receiving little or no help at all. We provide practical support that eases their minds so that they can attend to their child.
- Trust – We build trusting relationships with the families we support and are confident in our ability to ease their burden during their time of financial fragility.
- Accessibility – We are available for questions and concerns 7 days a week and have a dedicated phone line devoted to our program.
- Accountability – We hold ourselves accountable to the families we serve; to their critically ill children; and to our friends and donors who make this important service possible.
We envision all families of children with critical congenital heart defects are finically supported and actively involved in their children’s care.
